The Central NY Library Resources Council supports libraries in Herkimer, Madison, Oneida & Onondaga counties and advocates for libraries everywhere!

CLRC is one of nine regional councils known as the 3Rs. While the 3Rs are primarily intended to serve libraries, archives and other institutions, there are many professional organizations for individuals in the library and archives field.Many of these professional organizations offer job posting boards. American Library Association
As the oldest and largest library association in the world, the ALA works for library advocacy, provides news, and hosts the famously large ALA annual and mid-winter conferences.
New York Library Association
As a chapter of the American Library Association, NYLA advocates on behalf of libraries, offers continuing education, publishes The Bulletin quarterly, and grants scholarships and awards. Members of NYLA include several thousand librarians of public, school, college, university, system and special libraries as well as library trustees and friends of libraries.

Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference
MARAC serves the states of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia, and in the District of Columbia. They organize semi-annual meetings around the region and have a vigorous publications program.

of the Music Library Association

NYSO is a chapter of the MLA, which is devoted to music librarianship and all aspects of music materials in libraries. They hold their meetings in the Fall.
National Network of Libraries of Medicine
Middle Atlantic Region

The NN/LM is a network of U.S. health science libraries and information centers coordinated by the National Library of Medicine. The NN/LM provides health care professionals and the public equal access to biomedical and health care information resources.

New York Archives Conference
NYAC is an organization that brings together archivists, manuscript curators, local historians, local government record keepers and librarians to discuss issues of mutual concern with regard keeping historical records. Their annual event is in the early summer.
Society of American Archivists
SAA Job Search
SAA is a professional organization for archivists. SAA publishes the journal American Archivist, a newsletter, Archival Outlook, an online newsletter, In the Loop, and many books (some of which are available in our LARC). They also do continuing education, advocacy, an annual meeting and a significant listserv called Archives & Archivists.
Upstate New York Chapter
of the Special Libraries Association

UNYSLA offers opportunities for learning, networking, collaborating and socializing with local members. The UNYSLA Chapter includes all of New York State with the exception of Long Island, the Hudson Valley and NYC areas.
