Greetings Library Supporters!

A huge thank you to the over 800 advocates who traveled to Albany on Wednesday, February 25 for NYLA Library Advocacy Day 2015.

With assistance from our bus captains and Library Systems, advocates held meetings with over 70% of the members of the NYS Legislature!

Sixty Senators and Assemblymembers had their photograph taken for 2015 READ posters, and over 100 people attended the NYers for Better Libraries PAC Gala.

To date, over 2700 individuals have taken action to send our pre-drafted message of support for Library Aid to their elected representatives.

We are looking for that number to more than DOUBLE!  If you have already clicked through and sent your letters, thank you!

Encourage your family, colleagues, friends and everyone who values the programs and services provided to them via their library to take the less than two minutes needed to send in their message of support.

Copy & Paste this call-to-action into an e-mail, or post it on Facebook:

Your Library Needs Your Help: It’s Library Advocacy Time in NY! Tell Governor Cuomo that libraries need 21st Century funding. It only takes two minutes – the website figures out who your reps are, and the letter (which you can edit) is already drafted. If you believe in libraries as a force for good and democracy – SEND IN YOUR LETTER OF SUPPORT.

Securing funding in the New York State Budget is a simple numbers game.  The more constituents our representatives hear from, the more important the issue is deemed, and the better its position at the bargaining table.

Your voice, and the voices of those your recruit, can made a difference in getting libraries 21st Century funding.

THANK YOU FOR SPEAKING OUT FOR LIBRARIES!
