The Historic Oakwood Cemetery Preservation Association in Syracuse offers guided walking tours throughout the summer. Here is the 2018 schedule*:

Sunday, May 20
“Weeds & Seeds: the Flora of Oakwood” – Guide Don Leopold
The trees and plants of Oakwood are varied and very special. Find out what Oakwood has to offer and what makes the Cemetery so botanically unique.

Sunday, June 24
“The Stories are Nifty in Section 50” – Guide Sue Greenhagen
Join us as we meet the folks of Section 50, and what an interesting group they are.

Sunday, July 15
“Stairway to … Section 17”
Our newest HOCPA Board member, Diane Medvitz, will lead a tour of a section that has a million stories.

Sunday, August 19
“Goin’ Like Sixty … to Section 60” – Guide Sue Greenhagen
Folks from all walks of life make up the residents of Section 60, and they can’t wait for you to hear their stories.

Sunday, September 16
“A Surprise Ramble with Karl“
Take a walk with our rambler-in-chief, Karl Orlick. He’s a teller of tales who loves to share.

*Follow the tour signs to get to the meeting place from the entrance on Comstock Avenue. All tours start at 2:00 pm, rain or shine, and run for approximately two hours. Tours will be cancelled in the event of thunder and lightning. Please wear comfortable shoes.
