CLRC 2018 Library Awards

Library of the Year

Library of the Year will be awarded to one library in each of the following categories:

  • Academic Library of the Year
  • Public Library of the Year
  • School Library of the Year
  • Special Library of the Year

Who can be nominated?
Nominations for Library of the Year are open to any academic, public, school, or special library (this includes archives and museums) in Herkimer, Madison, Oneida or Onondaga County. However, a library may not win the award more than two consecutive years.

Who can submit a nomination?
Nominations for Library of the Year can be submitted by anyone. We simply ask that you choose a category on our form to reflect your relationship to the nominee (whether you’re a library patron, staff member, volunteer, etc.).

Can I submit multiple nominations?
Yes — you may nominate one library in each category, using a separate form for each nomination.

What should I include in my nomination(s)?
Since these are open-text forms, please take your time and write thoughtful responses telling us why the library you’ve nominated really stands out. How have they made a difference in your life? Please note that nominees will not be judged on quantity of nominations, but rather on the substance of those nominations.

When will the winners be announced, and what do they receive?
Winners will be announced just before CLRC’s annual meeting this Fall and are encouraged to attend the ceremony. Each winner will receive a plaque and will be awarded a banner to hang in their library for the year. (Banner will be passed to new winners next year).

What is the deadline for nominations?
Nominations are open through June 30th. CLRC must receive the nominations either electronically via Google Forms or in print form (via mail, fax or in person) by this date. Click here to view, download and print the paper nomination form.
