Even before the coronavirus shutdown, loneliness and social isolation were considered an epidemic in the United States, with devastating effects on our patrons. Libraries are uniquely situated to combat this problem. Join us for a workshop on why loneliness is an issue, whom it affects, and how we can help combat it both during this shutdown and after we reopen.

Tony Iovino, the Assistant Director for Community Services for the Oceanside Library, will discuss Oceanside’s “Connections” programs, both online and in person, implemented to help patrons with loneliness and social isolation.
