In this second segment of this digitization series, Nicole Menchise, LILRC Digitization and Archives Coordinator, and Regina Feeney, Local History Librarian at Freeport Memorial Library, will visit the Freeport Historical Society and Museum to scan some of the museum’s glass plate negative collection. This workshop will demonstrate the process of digitizing these extremely vulnerable items.

The workshop will cover:

• An introduction to the museum and the glass plate collection
• Safe handling for glass plate negatives
• Where and how to label
• Scanning demonstration
• How to populate metadata fields
• Housing – good, better, best

The workshop will include time for Q&A.
