LILRC Webinar: Preventative Conservation of Taxidermy at the American Natural History Museum with Marisa Surovy

Marisa Surovy is currently a Museum Specialist for the Department of Mammalogy at The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH), with over 10 years of museum experience. Marisa holds a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Alfred University and a master’s degree in Museum Studies from George Washington University. Her current work in the Department of Mammalogy at AMNH is focused on the care of the Museums’ mammal collection (approximately 290,000 specimens) and includes rehousing, inventorying, monitoring environmental conditions of collection spaces, pest control/ abatement, facilitating scientific research for study, processing loans, filing permits for international transport and data management of the Museum’s database.
