SIG: Early Career Professionals September Meetup – “Managing Up”

September 23 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Are you an Early Career Library & Information Professional? Then we want YOU to join us at the September meeting of CLRC’s Early Career Professionals Special Interest Group (SIG)!

For this month’s meeting, we’ll be talking about “managing up” as an early career professional, including how to build relationships with and more effectively work with your supervisors. Laura Benjamin (Access Services Librarian at Syracuse University) will help answer questions and facilitate an open conversation on management, drawing from her own experience as both a supervisor and early career librarian.

About the Presenter:

Laura Benjamin is the Access Services Librarian at Syracuse University Libraries. Laura earned her MLS from the University at Buffalo in 2009, and began working at Syracuse University Libraries in 2014. As Access Services Librarian, she is responsible for managing circulation and the stacks at Bird and Carnegie Libraries. In this role, she manages around 30 employees ranging from student employees to supervisors.

**Dinner will be provided**
