Webinar: I Didn’t Sign Up For This – Creating an Effective Pandemic Operation Plan

December 14, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EST

Webinar Description:

Pandemic librarianship is a challenge. Many of us in leadership are thinking, “This is not what I signed up for.” However, it is our job to rise to challenges and guide our organization forward. We do that through planning. A plan for library service during a pandemic is paramount, and for some of us, it is now mandated.

All libraries should be drafting a Pandemic Operations Plan (POP) now. In this workshop, we will cover what is mandated by the state. We will suggest additional information to add and implications for library policy. This includes questions you need to ask yourself, staff, and stakeholders, as well as suggestions on how such a plan should be formatted and successfully communicated.

About the Presenter:

Scott Jarzombek has been the Executive Director of the Albany Public Library for over six years and has more than 20 years of experience in the field. Jarzombek is an adjunct lecturer at the University at Albany’s College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security & Cybersecurity, and a member of the Urban Librarians Unite’s Board of Directors. Jarzombek has had a lifelong interest in emergency and disaster preparedness. He is also an avid reader of post-apocalyptic fiction.

Live captioning will be provided by Rev.com.

This webinar will be recorded and a recording will be shared with all registrants afterward.
