3:15 pm: Noreen Reale Falcone Library remodeling project tour
Sarah Bratt, PhD student at the Syracuse University School of Information Studies, will offer a session covering the basics of R and RStudio and a brief overview of resources for data analysis and visualization, such as Python and Jupyter Notebook. The session will include hands-on time using RStudio. R is a freely-available software that allows for analysis and visualization of data.
The session will be held in a computer lab with workstations provided for attendees. Registration is capped at 20.
Le Moyne College’s Noreen Reale Falcone Library is currently being remodeled. Tours of the library and remodeling in progress will be offered immediately following the hands-on session.
Information about parking:
From Interstate 81: Take Interstate 81 to 690 East. From 690 East, take Exit 16S to Thompson Road South. Follow Thompson Road across Erie Blvd (stop light) about one-half mile to Springfield Road (stop sign). Turn right onto Springfield Road. Proceed to the stop sign and bear left, remaining on Springfield Road. Turn left into Lot C.
No parking passes will be required to park in Lot C. If you need accessible parking closer to the Science Center, please contact Tom Keays directly at least a week before the event to obtain a parking permit.
From Lot C, walk toward Falcone Library (you’ll be approaching the Library from the back). Follow the sidewalk to the left. The sidewalk will turn to the right to the front entrance of the Library. Turn left (away from the Library) and continue up the slight hill toward the Science Center building. The Science Center Annex is the newer addition behind the older part of the building. Room 106 is on the first floor of the Annex.
