Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente Jr has pledged $47,500 to increase the collection of eBooks and digital audio books, funding for the Summer Reading Program, and support for the Books for Babies library initiative.

The money has been collected as part of an Oneida Nation settlement agreement.

$25,000 will be put toward the Books for Babies program which will provide a free book to every Oneida County newborn.

$15,000 will be used to purchase eBook and digital audiobook collections for 21 county libraries.

$7,500 will be used to purchase books to distribute during the summer reading programs.
