LOEX 2026 Conference
Norfolk, VA
Recently, I was able to attend this year’s annual LOEX Conference in Norfolk, Virginia, thanks to the professional development award from CLRC. I was able to attend several amazing sessions at the conference about relevant topics in the information literacy and academic libraries fields, including sessions on incorporating Critical AI Literacy into library instruction and improving reading comprehension skills among undergraduate students. It was great to hear the perspectives and experiences of librarians from institutions across the country and I left with a lot of ideas that I hope to incorporate into my own instruction techniques as I transition from graduate school to becoming a full-time librarian.
While attending the conference, I also had the opportunity to present a poster on the research guide I recently developed for the Honors Program at Syracuse University. During the poster presentation session, I was able to speak with many different librarians and graduate students and share more about the projects I’ve worked on as an Information Literacy Scholar at Syracuse.
