Mohawk Valley Community College has an opening for a Library Cataloging Coordinator who will oversee library technical services, including copy cataloging, and the processing and maintenance of library materials.

Primary responsibilities of the Library Cataloging Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Performs copy cataloging of acquired materials in various formats
* Provides quality control of bibliographic records and materials, edits and updates records
* Records, edits and corrects bibliographic records, holdings, and item records in the College’s integrated library system
* Coordinates the processing and housing of library materials, and database maintenance activities in the College’s integrated library system
* Maintains work statistics, updates and keeps current manuals and procedures, and actively participates in departmental meetings
* Keeps current in new developments in the field of library technical services
* Other duties as assigned by the Director of College Libraries

Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree
* Two (2) years of experience working in library technical services
* Experience using OCLC Connexion, Aleph, or a similar library integration system
* Knowledge of technical rules and standards for library cataloging (RDA, AACR2, LCSH), Library of Congress Classification and MARC
* Effective interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills
* Ability to perform detailed work with accuracy, analyze problems, and formulate solutions
* Continuous knowledge of evolving library standards and procedures are required
