On Wednesday, March 2 the advocacy bus pulled out of the CLRC parking lot at 6:30 am and headed east to Albany for a day of talking (and walking).

Take a look at the CLRC Facebook page for photos of the event.

Around 65 librarians, library staff, trustees and patrons from the Central New York region joined hundreds of others from around the state to rally for library support and advocate for fair funding.

Libraries are Education and our budgets need to reflect that.

Thank you to Sue Kowalski and her group of Advo-kids from the Pine Grove Middle School and to Christine Richie and her advo-kids from the Beauchamp Branch Library for telling the legislators that libraries are education.

Thanks to Madelyn Lombardo and the students from Tully Free Library and to Renate Dunsmore of White Branch / Paine Branch for bringing along library supporters to join our mission.

And thank you to all the advocates that met with 16 Assemblymembers, Senators and their staff members. You opened the legislative doors to information, conversation and education.

Continue writing letters, sending emails and meeting with your representatives in their district offices.

Visit the CLRC Advocacy Page for contact information for local legislators.
