The Liverpool Public Library is seeking a dynamic and resourceful Systems Librarian. The successful candidate will lead a collaborative team dedicated to providing responsive customer service to both patrons and staff. We are looking for someone with technical expertise and an understanding of user-centered systems within a library setting.

Now is an exciting time to join the Liverpool Public Library. The Library completed a comprehensive strategic planning process in 2016 and this position is critical to fulfilling our three strategic priorities of Learning and Education, Connecting the Community, and Re-imaging the Library. (see attached brochure) As Department Coordinator, you will collaborate with management and staff on how to utilize library technology to meet those priorities. For example, our Community Engagement Department regularly takes library services out into the community with our library van and bike. What opportunities exist to bring technology or technology training outside of the physical building?

In addition, we are in the planning stages of a first-floor renovation, the Systems Librarian will play a leadership role in recommending updated technology practices in relation to newly proposed services and a reconfigured floor plan. The Systems Librarian will be responsible for keeping abreast of new trends, especially in the ILS platform, patron self-service, discovery and STEAM education.
