Valerie Brewer, Professional Development Award Recipient, Discusses the New York Library Association Conference

It was a very exciting and inspirational experience! I came back with ideas on how to reach shut-ins with home deliveries, how to reach teens and make the library a more engaging place for them, and how to focus my job in the direction in the path I want. It was very helpful to network there and meet people that have different experiences and knowledge that helped me to figure out how to better help my community. Katie Smith was one of my favorite presenters. She gave great advice for how to reach the teens in your area.
