Help spread the word to the teens in your communities and encourage them to participate.

The New York State Library is pleased and excited to announce the details for the 2018 Teen Video Challenge to help promote Summer Reading at New York Libraries! This challenge gives teens, aged 13-18, the opportunity to work with their local public library to encourage the use of public libraries and create a short video promoting the Summer Reading Program and the 2018 slogan of “Libraries Rock!”

Video submissions from teens are due to their local libraries by February 21, 2018. Entries are then submitted to the New York State Library for judging, and one winning video will be chosen from each participating state.

Winning videos are sent to the national Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) and will be featured on the State Library and national CSLP sites all summer long.

Winners from each state will receive a $100 cash prize and the sponsoring public library receives a $50 gift certificate from CSLP and Upstart!

Detailed information including entry forms, timeline, and the attached promotional flyer may be found at http://www.summerreadingnys.org/teens/teens-video-challenge/

Questions may be directed to Sharon Phillips, Summer Reading Program Coordinator, at 518-486-4863.
