New York Counts 2020 is a statewide coalition of community-based organizations working in partnership with state and local government to facilitate a complete count, focusing on hard-to-count (HTC) areas.

Currently signed on to the coalition are NYLA, Queens Library, Brooklyn Public Library, Liverpool Public Library, and Westchester Library System. Several members of the library community, including Lauren Moore and Nate Hill, Executive Director of METRO, are serving on New York Counts committees.

New York Counts has adopted the recommendations of the Fiscal Policy Institute, and is advocating Governor Cuomo’s $40M budget to fund community outreach efforts.
