On December 1, CLRC held its annual Legislative Breakfast at La Casita Cultural Center with over 50 people attending the event. Thank you to our regional legislators for attending and/or sending a representative to speak with library supporters (trustees, friends, library staff, patrons and students).

Everyone was encouraged to tell library stories and we saw legislator pens scratching away at their notepads.

Senator David Valesky
Assemblyman Al Stirpe
Deb Cody – Senator John DeFrancisco
Terry Wilbur – Assemblyman Will Barclay
Lisa Sacco – Assemblywoman Pamela Hunter
Craig Swiecki – Assemblyman William Magnarelli

And then on December 8, the eastern region Legislative Breakfast was held at the Kirkland Town Library in Clinton. Huge thanks to Director Anne Debraggio and her staff, friends and trustees for making the space warm and welcoming. Over 50 people attended the breakfast at the 116-year-old library. Happy Birthday!

Thank you to all the legislators for their continuing support of libraries through these tough budget years.
Assemblyman Marc Butler
John Steman – Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi
Bob Scheuchenko – Assemblyman Magee
Tracy Carman – Senator Valesky
Reed Kinderman – Senator Griffo
Michael Kenneally – Senator Tedisco

Congresswomen Stefanik and Tenney could not attend the breakfast but sent written statements. Contact CLRC at info@clrc.org if you would like either copy emailed to you.

The CLRC region is fortunate to have great representation on the Senate Library Committee with three members (Senators Tedisco, Valesky and Seward) in our corner fighting for every penny for our libraries.

Take a look at more pictures from both events on the CLRC Facebook page.

Mark your calendars for Library Advocacy Day in Albany – Wednesday, February 28. CLRC will once again schedule appointments with legislators and charter a bus with pick-ups in Syracuse, Utica, Herkimer and Little Falls.
