2020 Digital Services User Group Meeting (Virtual)
September 3, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This year we’re taking our annual Digital Services User Group Meeting online. This meeting will be an opportunity to get updates on our various repository platforms and services–including: New York Heritage Digital Collections, New York State Historic Newspapers, Empire Archival Discovery Cooperative, Digital Dark Archive, Access & Digitization Grants, as well as the services we offer through the CLRC DigLab. We’ll take a deeper dive into the Digital Dark Archive, explaining the process and benefits of preserving digital files. Finally, we’ll gather feedback on CLRC’s digital services that will inform our 2021 – 2026 Plan of Service.
If you’re a CLRC member and work with digitization projects or promoting access to cultural heritage resources, we hope you’ll join us for this meeting! We’ll start with a basic overview, so we also welcome folks who are interested in becoming involved in digitization or access projects. If you have any questions about this event, please feel free to email Ryan Perry at firstname.lastname@example.org
- Overview: Ryan Perry, CLRC’s Digital Collections Librarian, will give a brief overview of CLRC’s digital services, and how they fit together
- Updates: Ryan will give an update on NY Heritage, NYS Historic Newspapers, EmpireADC, and our other digital services. He’ll review recent changes to the platforms, as well as what’s in store for the future. Any and all questions are welcome.
- Digital Dark Archive mini-workshop: Ryan will give an overview of digital preservation and how CLRC can help maintain your digital files for longterm storage
- Plan of Service Focus Group: A discussion of priorities for digital services. How can CLRC better serve our members in this area? What should we be focusing on for CLRC’s 2021-2026 Plan of Service?
