Have you been wondering how to handle those 3D objects in your collections? Are you afraid to have your patrons touch them? If so, join the CDLC Preservation Interest Group and learn about collecting, curating, caring for, and containing objects such as textiles, glassware, specimens, and other non-paper artifacts in libraries and archives. We will learn about rehousing 3D artifacts using standard archival supplies.

Our discussion will be led by Gwen Spicer, Spicer Art Conservation. Gwen is a conservator in private practice in upstate New York and has been since 1995. She treats textiles, upholstery, and organic artifacts.  She assists many small to mid-size museums and historical societies across New York State with collection care, storage, exhibitions, and conservation treatments.  She is the author of the award-winning book Magnetic Mounting Systems for Museums & Cultural Institutions, published in 2019.
