NNYLN 59th Annual Membership Meeting

May 2 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm EDT

This is an in-person member event for culture workers in Northern New York’s libraries, archives, and museums at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake. The day’s morning keynote will be live-streamed to a virtual audience and available to registrants outside of the region.

Morning keynote presentations by Kanienkeha:ká artist and director of the Six Nations Iroquois Cultural Center David Fadden and The Wild Center executive director Stephanie Ratcliffe, who worked together to redesign portions of The Wild Center’s permanent exhibits into Ways of Knowing: Haudenosaunee Stories and Culture. They will detail the relationship building, organizational process, and results of transitioning their exhibits to center Indigenous knowledge systems.

Attendees at our 59th annual meeting will gain deepened recognition of how to practice anti-racism as an information design principle and learn from The Wild Center’s efforts to remove Western points of view.
