CLRC’s Sustainability SIG Meetings
August 11, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am EDT
Join us for a meeting of CLRC’s Sustainability Special Interest Group!
We meet every other month on the second Friday at 10 a.m.
This group meets to discuss how best to reach our community to convey a sense of urgency regarding the state of our planet. Our focus is on the three pillars of sustainability: sustainable practices are environmentally sound, socially equitable, and economically feasible.
At our August 11 meeting, we’ll be hearing from Lauren Darcy! Lauren Darcy is an environmental Planner at the CNY Regional Planning Board. One of her many roles is facilitating the CNY Stormwater Coalition which is a cooperative effort by Syracuse Area municipalities to prevent stormwater pollution and meet NYS requirements. An important part of this effort is public education and creating opportunities for public involvement in managing the stormwater problem. Everyone has a role to play, Lauren will provide background on local stormwater challenges and some ways libraries can get involved in the solutions.
