Webinar: Serving the Neurodiverse Library User – Tips for Effective Interactions and Designing Inclusive Library Spaces, Services, and Programming

September 19, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am EDT

Webinar Description:

Neurodiversity acknowledges and celebrates learning and thinking differences in individuals. While neurodiversity is often associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), there are a broad range of neurodevelopmental issues that encompass neurodiversity such as ADHD, learning disorders, and sensory processing disorder. This webinar will provide librarians with a greater understanding of neurodiversity as well as suggestions for communicating more effectively and addressing possible challenging behaviors. Librarians will also learn strategies to make library spaces more accessible and design programming to better serve neurodiverse patrons.

About the Presenter:

She holds a B.A. in Psychology, M.A. in Clinical Psychology, Master of Business Administration, and Master of Library Science.
