WNYLRC Webinar: Things for New Yorks to Know About Medicare

May 24, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am EDT

Working in a library, you have likely received questions from patrons about Medicare and other forms of health insurance. Medicare is a federal health insurance program that provides coverage for people over the age of 65, certain younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease. The Census’s 2019 report on Health Insurance Coverage in the United States estimates approximately 19.8% of people in the United States have Medicare coverage. Statistically, many of your patrons have Medicare, and need assistance navigating Medicare and other related health insurances.

This webinar is being led by experts from the Senior Action Coalition. You will learn about the Medicare enrollment process, cost-sharing, Medicare drug coverage, and Medicare Savings Programs. You will also learn about what is NOT covered by Medicare. Bring your questions as there will be time for a Q&A at the end.
