2024 Solar Eclipse Grants

CLRC is Offering 2024 Solar Eclipse Grants!

On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, with many libraries in Central New York in the path of totality. CLRC wants to help support your eclipse programming! We’re offering mini-grants to help fund more supplies, programming already planned or in process, or anything else you might need to make the most of this event for you and your patrons.

Eligibility/Rules & Requirements:

  • Any full or affiliate member of CLRC is eligible.
  • The funds must only be used for solar eclipse programming, supplies, events, etc. This includes events leading up to the eclipse.

Grant Amount:

Grants will be awarded in amounts up to $500, as funds allow. If the grant requests exceed our budget, we will offer partial funding.

Deadline:

Grant applications are due March 22, and applicants will be notified of the status of their application by March 29. We understand that this means a short time between notification and the eclipse. We are happy to reimburse for any funds that have already been spent.

Project Timeline & Completion:

The funds must be used for costs related to the solar eclipse and, therefore, should be spent by April 8. Recipients of the grant are required to submit a short final report that will be due on May 31.
