One hundred and fifty New York State Libraries exhibit booth volunteers have come…and gone. Everyone was pleased to have the opportunity to meet library lovers, book readers, storytime goers and computer users from around the State and beyond. We have four poster boards chock full of orange, blue, yellow and green stickers to prove it.

There was a group of folks that stopped by the booth visiting here from Nepal. They were amazed at the library system we have, and the resources available to anyone for free. They said only the elite or connected have access to libraries in their country. Our libraries are the great equalizers.

The trivia wheel brought lots of laughs from families, first daters and friends playfully challenging each other.  Lollipops, tootsie rolls and bubble gum, oh my.

The big draw was the ten-foot tall balloon tree and curious monkey created by Jeff the Magic Man. Pictures galore from the crowds and little fingers pointing to the hidden bunny, flowers and bird. See the time-lapse video Jeff created of the project HERE.

1.2 million fair goers came through the gates and even if we only reached out to one quarter of them, we did a pretty good job advocating for libraries. Thanks everyone. See you next year!
