Webinar Description:

Are you interested in learning how to share your experiences as a library staff member in a creative and powerful way? Come join a panel discussion with three contributors to the ACRLog as we discuss the benefits of blogging!  Three key takeaways will be:

  • Recommended tech, services, or tools
  • Advice to begin your journey

About the Presenters:

Alex Harrington (she/her) is the Access Services and Instruction Librarian at the Harrell Health Sciences Library at the Hershey campus of Penn State University. She has been contributing to ACRLog since September 2018, at which time she was a reference and instruction librarian at the Tidewater Community College / City of Virginia Beach Joint-Use Library in Virginia Beach, VA. She is currently serving as the Series Coordinator for ACRLog.

Hailley Fargo (she/her) is the Head of Education & Outreach Services at Northern Kentucky University. In this role, she leads a team of librarians to provide information literacy through course-based instruction, credit-bearing courses in the Library Informatics bachelor’s degree program, and through outreach efforts across campus. Her research interests include undergraduate research, student engagement and academic libraries, middle management, and reference services. Blogging has been a big part of Hailley’s life, starting as an undergraduate at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Since then, she has blogged for New York Public Library, YALSA, Hack Library School, and ACRLog. Hailley is also a co-founder and Editorial Board member of LibParlor (libparlor.com), a platform for building a community of researchers in LIS.

Emily Hampton Haynes (she/her) is a Public Services Librarian at Carroll Community College in rural Maryland, and has been blogging with ACRLog since 2018. Her research interests include critical librarianship and outreach. After two years of hybrid education, Emily is working on re-building community in her library through low-stakes, self-directed programming. She’s obsessed with her black Labrador named Persephone.
