Attending the American Library Association Annual Conference in Chicago was an incredible experience that exceeded my expectations. I am grateful for the CLRC Professional Development Award that allowed me to attend the conference and enhance my professional growth and development.
The conference allowed me to connect with other professionals in the field and learn about new and emerging trends in the library world. I attended various informative sessions and workshops covering a wide range of topics, including digital resources, community engagement, and leadership development.
After not attending a conference for many years, the exhibit hall was an incredible experience. I had the chance to explore the latest technologies, resources, and services offered by various vendors and publishers. I spent most of my time at ALA evaluating electronic resources, demoing new products, and connecting with new and existing vendors. Sitting down with various ILS vendors back to back to discuss their products would only be possible here.
My experience attending the American Library Association Annual Conference in Chicago was invaluable. The information I gained from various vendor meetings will allow Mid York Library System to add additional services to our member libraries. Also, this conference has brought me up to speed on the latest technology and resources available to our members. I am deeply grateful for the Professional Development Award that made this experience possible.
