In-Person RRLC Workshop: Crisis Management & Critical Incident Stress Workshop

April 11 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

From book bans to natural disasters, libraries face a variety of crises that leadership and staff may have to manage — and recover from. These crises take a toll not only on our libraries and communities, but also ourselves. Crises require preparation, as well as recovery and recuperation. Join us for an interactive workshop exploring crisis management and critical incident stress!

— Anticipating areas of vulnerability or possible crises
— Designing procedures for responding to a crisis
— Planning for crisis recovery
— Critical incident stress
— How people and workplaces can be affected by the trauma of a crisis
— The effects of short term and long term stress on the body and mind
— Strategies for how organizations can be supportive of employees in the aftermath of a crisis
