Webinar Viewing Party: Accessibility and Online Multimedia Content
May 16, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm EDT
Free – $10.00Join us at the CLRC office for a webinar viewing party! We’ll be learning about accessibility and online multimedia from this NYLA provided webinar.
Webinar Description:
As information providers, we increasingly use video and audio to disseminate information. This poses challenges but also unique opportunities for reaching people with disabilities. Providing transcriptions, captions, and audio descriptions with the media is not a simple task. But with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility, we can produce content that is conducive to achieving our professional mission of lifelong learning while working to eliminate the disparities between persons with and without disabilities.
Learning Objectives:
- learn how to plan for, design, and create content that makes the process of creating transcripts, captions, and audio descriptions more feasible
- learn how to identify when accessible features or accessible alternatives are necessary
- explore tools we can use to create accessible content.
