WNYLRC Virtural Happy Hour: Frank L. Baum and The Wizard of Oz

May 6, 2020 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm EDT

There’s no place like home…to enjoy a Virtual Happy Hour! Journey deep into the fascinating life of L. Frank Baum and his classic story The Wizard of Oz. Not only will we explore Baum’s inspirations for creating the original book in 1900, we will also consider how it has manifested in different forms over the years — including the popular 1939 film, a now-abandoned theme park, shopping malls, and more. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and make comments throughout the presentation!

This is intended to be a fun, socializing virtual event. Prep a cocktail or a mocktail, kick back, and listen! Participants will be free to ask questions.

Registrants will be emailed the Zoom link one day prior to the event. This session will not be recorded.
